This campaign, one of the largest organized so far, aims to raise €1,000,000, first among the inhabitants of the Pays de la Loire and Normandy regions, and then among all interested individuals in France. Beginning on December 17, all French investors and individuals will be able to subscribe to the project on the Lendosphere and WiSEED platforms. This flagship circular economy project is the first campaign of its kind to be launched by Meridiam.

Eager to participate in the energy transition while enhancing the value of livestock manure from their farms, a hundred farmers joined forces in 2010 with Agri Bio Energie Méthanisation du Maine (AB2M). They initiated the Agrimaine Méthanisation project and, after initial feasibility studies, chose to establish the project in the commune of Charchigné, in Mayenne (53).

Julien Touati, Partner at Meridiam in charge of energy transition activities in Europe, says:

“Socially viable low carbon transition is at the core of Meridiam’s investment strategy, and the Agrimaine Méthanisation project is an important project for us as it reflects our sustainable and long-term investment approach, serving the development of the biogas sector in France. We believe in the virtue of mobilizing local savings for projects with a strong territorial impact. With our AB2M partners, we found it essential to involve the inhabitants of the neighbouring regions in the financing of the project, allowing them to put part of their savings to work in a concrete and sustainable way.”
