The industry has entered a virtuous circle that will help communities to tackle climate change as well as reduce local pollution.

This growth will require innovative but robust solutions to offer end-users certainty in accessing state-of-the-art charging solutions and to manage grid impact. Allego has been able to develop a high level of expertise and capabilities in all EV-related infrastructure (charging at home, at work, at public spaces, along highways, as well public transport) that will prove critical to unlock the European electric mobility market.

Allego is the leading EV platform in Europe and specializes in charging infrastructure development and connected cloud based customer services. The company is now in a strong deployment phase across Europe.

Meridiam’s long-term and development-oriented approach will secure Allego’s unique independent position in the EV market, a key of its past and future successes and offer the company and its staff the long-term visibility required to foster Allego’s industry leadership.

Meridiam and Allego will continue to develop jointly the Mega-E (Metropolitan Greater Areas Electrified) project. This European Commission-backed project aims at deploying 322 Ultra-fast Charging locations including 39 multimodal smart charging hubs in at least 10 European metropolitan areas.

“Through its infrastructure development expertise, Meridiam will strengthen Allego’s pan-European leadership position and its high-impact contribution to electromobility across Europe. It will further position Meridiam as a key partner for communities willing to embrace the low-carbon transition”, says Julien Touati, Meridiam Partner and Leadership Council Chair.

“Allego highly appreciates the opportunity to partner with Meridiam, as they are fully dedicated to our ambition to create clean urban areas via electric mobility and will support us in expanding our business. Meridiam will help us enhance our EV charging services while also improving the charging experience for EV drivers across Europe. We envision and shape a European EV market that is consumer centric, interoperable and based on open standards”, says Anja van Niersen, CEO Allego.
