Our Impact
Reno Airport Ground Transportation Center, Nevada, United States
Background
The Reno Airport Ground Transportation Center (“Reno Airport GTC”) Project is the first Consolidated Rent-A-Car (“ConRAC”) facility since Meridiam’s acquisition of ConRAC Solutions (“CS”), reaching Financial Close in May 2024.
Reno Airport GTC’s primary new development includes a new Consolidated Rent-A-Car facility totaling 440,220 square feet (~40,900 m2) and 1,470 spaces at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, located in northwest Nevada near the California border. The facility aims to provide one central location for all commercial ground transportation providers at the airport(1).
Meridiam developed the project in partnership with Conrac Solutions and at financial close formed the Project Company to contract with the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (“RTAA”) to deliver the project under a Design-Build-Finance-Maintain contract with a 34-year concession. Construction will be performed by a joint venture led by Webcor Construction (a subsidiary of Obayashi Corporation).
Facility operations management will be undertaken by Conrac Solutions under long-term services contracts.

SDG Achievements and Roadmap
Based on a high-level carbon emissions assessment for the lifecycle of the project by Edge Impact, an independent consulting firm, the new ConRAC facility would decrease by 74% the total emission of the current existing facility under a “business as usual” scenario.
SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) –
The Reno facility design has provisions for potential future EV Charging as well as future 4MW solar roof option.
SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) –
Reno Airport is the primary airport to Lake Tahoe and north-west regions of Nevada, projecting economic growth in coming years.
SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) –
The Reno Project provides improved operations for rental car companies avoiding unnecessary shuttles and reducing congestion outside the airport.
SDG 11 (Sustainable Communities) –
The facility design includes water re-use and conservation systems to reclaim and re-use 90% of water used for car washes, as well as an automated system to manage lighting levels during day to optimize power consumption.
