Background:

The hospital is located in Ibiza, in the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands. The c. 79,000m2 public hospital has a 296-bed capacity serving a population of 160,000 people across Ibiza and Formentera. The project includes the operation of non-clinical services for Hospital Can Misses along with two other healthcare centers.

Ibiza Hospital has a full range of emergency care facilities including surgery, paediatrics, ICU and neonatal, radiotherapy and obstetrics. The hospital hosts 58 consultation rooms, 26 examination rooms, 22 speciality premises and five delivery and recovery premises.

Ibiza Hospital has subcontracted the operation and maintenance to the Ibiza Operating Company and this entity has subcontracted most of the services (except for laundry, restoration and the cafeteria) to third-party subcontractors. These relationships are typically back-to-back where the subcontractor bears the full risk in case of penalties from the Grantor.
