Our impact

Yci Enfance

Background

The Project consists of the development, financing, design, and construction of a network of nurseries throughout France. Recognised non-profit organisations in early childhood care will rent the facilities and be responsible for operation and maintenance.
Despite public policies encouraging early childhood education, the French government still faces challenges in meeting the country’s need for nurseries, particularly in disadvantaged urban areas. This Project aims to mitigate the shortage through the establishment of up to 100 nurseries by the year 2029.
In collaboration with the National Agency for Urban Renovation (ANRU), the Project seeks to introduce a new model that ensures a sustained commitment from operators and delivers infrastructure tailored to the needs of the most vulnerable populations. This collaboration is further strengthened through the involvement of specialized non-profit operators, leveraging their expertise to enhance the project’s impact: Fédération Léo Lagrange, Fédération Nationale de la Mutualité Française (NSMF) and Synergie Family.

ESG Matters

The Project aims to improve public childcare services in deprived urban areas, focusing on closing the education and childcare gap to address and mitigate the root causes of inequality through educational initiatives, promoting equal opportunities for all. The resilience of the Project lies in its commitment to social inclusion and support for vulnerable communities by targeting districts with high levels of social fragility and poverty rates three times the national average. YCI Enfance addresses the lack of primary care and financial barriers to accessing healthcare, with the aim of improving quality of life and societal integration. Although not the primary objective, the Project incorporates climate change and environmental considerations throughout its development process.
