Meridiam invests €5m in Blyyd to support the decarbonization of logistics yard operations
18.06.2026
Meridiam, through its Green Impact Growth Fund (GIGF), has invested €5m in Blyyd to support the company’s next phase of development. Based in France (Lyon), Blyyd designs and industrializes fully electric yard tractors used within logistics and industrial sites to handle trailer movements and optimize yard operations.
Founded in 2015 by Damien Gambey, the company has developed a fully integrated solution for the electrification of yard operations, combining vehicle design, deployment and maintenance, serving primarily high-intensity logistics platforms operated by large retailers, logistics providers and industrial companies. Blyyd’s solution is designed for the demanding conditions of logistics yards, where vehicles operate continuously and space is limited. Its tractors combine electric design, swappable battery and smart monitoring tools, enabling higher security, continuous operations and optimized fleet management.
As supply chains expand and intensify, yard operations represent a significant share of logistics-related emissions and operational costs, making them a critical lever for decarbonization. Electrification solutions tailored to these environments are therefore essential to reconcile operational performance with emissions reductions and climate objectives. Logistics yard operations are becoming increasingly complex, driven by the growth of distribution hubs, rising throughput requirements and mounting regulatory pressure to decarbonize. But electrification in these environments still requires solutions that can meet strict uptime needs and adapt to operational constraints on the ground.
With 160 tractors deployed across 100 sites, Blyyd has established strong relationships with leading customers and is expanding across Europe through a growing network of distribution and service partners.
This investment will primarily support the industrial ramp-up of Blyyd’s new generation of yard tractors. It will also contribute to commercial growth and the acceleration of Blyyd’s international expansion across Europe. Meridiam will support Blyyd’s development by leveraging its European footprint and ecosystem across infrastructure, logistics and mobility, facilitating partnerships across the battery value chain and access to logistics platforms.
Eric Rey & Julien Renaud, Meridiam GIGF, stated: “We are particularly pleased to support Blyyd, a leading innovative French player in 100% electric yard tractors, as it enters this new phase of development. The company has built a strong position in a specialised yet rapidly expanding segment of logistics electrification, with a differentiated solution tailored to the operational constraints of large-scale logistics platforms. We look forward to partnering with Blyyd’s management team to accelerate its growth trajectory and fully capture the value of the strategic synergies ahead.”
Damien Gambey, CEO and Founder of Blyyd, added: “We are delighted to welcome Meridiam as a strategic partner. Beyond their experience in scaling growth companies and e-mobility platforms, Meridiam brings a global perspective on transport and logistics infrastructure that will be instrumental as we industrialize our new generation of tractors and accelerate our international expansion. This partnership will enable us to scale faster, leveraging strong industrial and commercial synergies across the broader logistics and mobility ecosystem, while continuing to deliver high-performance, low-emission solutions to our customers.”
