Background

Nottingham Express Transit Phase Two (NET) is an extension of the existing Nottingham Express Transit Line One by two further tram lines. The 22-year and 3-month Concession Agreement with Nottingham City Council covers the financing, design, construction, operation and maintenance of the two new lines and the operation and maintenance of the existing Line One.

The full network has been in operation since August 2015. Nottingham is now a city experiencing the benefits that come with having a modern and reliable light rail public transport system. NET provides direct public transport connections to several of the City’s major employment sites.

These include Nottingham’s QMC Hospital and treatment centre, the ng2 business park, Nottingham University and Nottingham Trent University and Nottingham Science Park. NET also serves large event venues including Theatre Royal and Concert Hall, Nottingham Arena and Nottingham Tennis Centre.
