Infanta Sofía Hospital

Hospital Infanta Sofía is located in San Sebastian de los Reyes, in the region of Madrid, Spain. Under a concession agreement that expires in 2035, the company provides all non-medical services in this 257 beds/88,000 sqm facility that serves a population of more than 300,000 people.

In 2020, the hospital got the sustainability BREEAM Award in the “Public Sector – In Use” category.

Background

In the context of the process launched by Acciona to divest several PPP projects in Spain, Meridiam has acquired 80% of the company in charge of the overall operation and maintenance of the Hospital Infanta Sofia in Madrid.

The scope of the services includes the delivery of all non-medical services such as sterilization, catering, security, cleaning, laundry, fumigation, waste management and administrative services.

The building has a total area of 88,000 m2 and capacity for 257 beds. The Hospital is located near the city of Madrid.

Infanta Sofía Hospital provides health coverage to an area of about 322,000 people.

The expansion of the Hospital through the completion of the fourth tower is scheduled for H2 2021, due to the growing occupation in the previous years. This expansion represents an increase in the service contract of the operating company.
