Our impact

Aéroports d’Ivato et Nosy Be, Madagascar

Deux aéroports de Madagascar sont en cours d’amélioration et d’exploitation, notamment la rénovation des installations et pistes existantes et la construction d’un nouveau terminal international dans la capitale.

The Project comprises the design, construction, financing and operation of two existing airports namely Ivato International Airport in Antananarivo and Fascène Airport in Nosy Bé. The concession will last 28 years, including 3 years of construction (with operational testing and commissioning services).

Thanks to the Project:

  • Passenger handling capacity will more than double at Ivato Airport, which serves Antananarivo, Madagascar’s capital city. Its runway will be reinforced and resurfaced to handle wide-bodied aircraft and a 17,500 m2 international terminal will be built with an initial capacity of 1.5 million passengers per year.
  • The capacity of Fascene Airport at Nosy Bé, one of the country’s main tourism destinations, will increase to 500,000 passengers a year.

The project benefits from a EUR 130 million senior debt loan provided by a pool of multilateral organizations (IFC, Proparco, EAIF, OFID and DBSA) with a maturity of 16 years, a fixed debt rate and a margin of 500bps.
