Mr. Joonkyu Park is Executive Vice President of Samsung Life Insurance (SLI). Mr. Park leads the Asset Management Strategy Team, primarily covering Samsung Financial Networks’ overall portfolio management issues and investments.

Before assuming this position in 2022, Mr. Park served as Executive Vice President of Global Business Team, Vice President of Asset Portfolio Management Team and Strategic Investment Division of SLI, and Vice President of Financial Industry Department at the Samsung Economic Research Institute (SERI).

Mr. Park has accumulated expertise in analyzing financial markets and making strategic decisions. He held various key positions within the Ministry of Finance of Korea from 1998 to 2016, implementing policies in macroeconomy, capital markets, foreign exchange, multilateral/bilateral economic cooperation, and financial industries. He also worked as economist at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from 2010 to 2015. His works at the IMF are focused on macroeconomic policies, financial stability, investment management, sovereign debt management, and international monetary system.

He graduated from Seoul National University in 1998 with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations (minor: Economics) and MIT Sloan School of Management in 2008 with Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
