The A5 motorway (Frankfurt-Karlsruhe-Basel) is a major traffic artery of the European highway network and also part of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T). The Project comprises a concession for the operation, maintenance, expansion and financing of a 60 km section of the A5 motorway consisting of 2 Sections (see figure below): 42 km bi-directional reconstruction and extension from four to six lanes between Baden-Baden and Offenburg 19 km between Malsch and Baden-Baden operations and maintenance The project includes the upgrading of the existing four-lane BAB A5 motorway to a six-lane motorway
