Thilo started his project finance career in 1997 in London with Commerzbank before working as Assistant Commercial Director for the PT Jawa Power IPP project company in Jakarta, Indonesia. Following his Master’s Degree in 2000 he joined ABN AMRO Bank’s Infrastructure Group in London, where he worked on a number of social, defence, and transportation PPPs across Europe. Most notably he advised the successful consortium on the Cyprus Airports PPP and the successful bidder on the UK Armoured Vehicles Training Systems PFI project.

In 2003 Thilo joined KPMG’s projects group in London where he advised both governments and private bidders on a range of road, electronic tolling and defence projects in a number of European countries. Thilo advised ASFINAG in Austria on its first PPP tender for the A5 Autobahn.

Thilo then moved on to lead the Transportation team at Siemens Project Ventures GmbH (“SPV”) in Germany from 2005 to 2011. He took a leading role in a number of transportation PPP projects around the world, most notably Colombia’s Bogota Airport PPP, the Intercity Express Programme in the UK, the Sydney Metro PPP, and the Denver FasTrack PPP Project. Thilo also led Siemens’ successful bid for the Thameslink Rolling Stock PPP project in the UK.

Since joining Meridiam Thilo successfully closed the E18 Road PPP Project in Finland.

Thilo holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Business Academy Karlsruhe and an MSc in Finance and Engineering from Technical University Berlin.
